A family-run pub on Upper George's Street since 1904, with a bistro kitchen, a proper pour, and a room upstairs where you can hear someone sing. Most nights of the week, all three are running at once.
" We never set out to run a 17-piece big band. It just sort of happened, and once the room was full, we couldn't stop. – Michelle, owner
Faces you'll
see most weeks.
Michelle
Took the place over and never quite let go. The reason it's still family-run, and the one who books the bands.
Igli
Will talk you through the day-boat fish if you give him half a chance. Sundays, he roasts.
Oscar
Perfectionist that takes care of major function room enquiries and still finds his way behind the bar most weekends. Surprisingly makes a killer Whiskey Sour.
Finn
The cocktail engineer, makes cocktails look like 1300s alchemy, and a philosopher on the side... a stout pour worth queuing for, and will talk about Dostoievski while making you an espresso martini.
Bianca
If you're four-plus and the place looks full, ask for her, she'll find you a corner.
